A four week exploration of handpan for ALL LEVELS of players with internationally recognized multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer and teacher: Adam Maalouf.
Attend ONLINE from anywhere OR IN-PERSON at the Asheville Rhythm Studio in Asheville, NC.
Adam will methodically direct participants through techniques, rhythmic patterns, and his own melodic compositions. Beginners will gain a fluid understanding of the instrument through this approach. Experienced players can challenge themselves to learn songs and play complex orchestrated parts both in unison and syncopation with others.
This mini-series will be followed up later with a longer ensemble series building on the principles, practices, and notation laid out in this course.
Space is limited to 15 in-studio participants and unlimited virtual participants. Handpans (tuned to D Kurd) can be provided for the in-studio participants during class, if needed. A minimum number of students must enroll to ensure that the class runs as scheduled, so please help us spread the word!
In-studio participants will be visible and audible in the livestream/video archives. Your enrollment to attend in-studio implies your consent to be filmed and for your likeness to appear in these videos and in promotional photos and videos for these and future classes.
Both in-studio and virtual enrollees will receive the unlisted URL's where the classes will livestream and be archived, as well as access to a Dropbox folder with notation and supporting material. If you miss a class in real time, you can simply watch the archive later at your convenience.
Cost is $160 for series, whether in-studio or online. There is only space and instruments for a maximum of 15 students in-studio, so please reserve your spot if you attend in-studio for any of those classes. Virtual enrollment is unlimited.
There will be a livestream technician managing the virtual component and chatboard throughout the classes. Livestream will be a high-quality, multi-camera production on YouTube, using an unlisted URL that you will only be able to access with registration.
